Although this picture sums up a lot, here's a quick mid-summer update from all here at SLDNN Student Sub-Group. Naturally, things with the SLDNN Student Sub-group are moving at a more relaxed pace for now as conference has past and we're all on placement at the moment. However, we have lots planned for the new academic year and a vision of where we want to be by this time next year. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing more of the sub-group on the blog. Some members have been around since the early stages of the group, and others are the new energy who are the future of the sub-group. We look forward to sharing more about the SLDNN's Knowledge Network over the coming months, which will show the progress made across the network. So look out for more posts over the coming weeks.
As the sub-group are on placement it would be easy to focus all our energy on
that. However, a few weeks ago, three members of the sub-group, Joe
Somerville, Caryn McWhirter and Annie Millar embarked on a journey to
RCN 2015 congress with their colleagues Lauren Laird and Heather Davie. They took Professor Angela
Wallace's advice; to take more chances; be more innovative; to be inspired and ultimately #bemorepirate. They are all a credit to our group, and the full sub-group
would like to congratulate our colleague Caryn McWhirter who has been
published in the Nursing Standard. To round off three years of nursing
training with this is truly inspirational to us all, and we are all
certain that this is the first of many piece's Caryn will have published
in her career. The link is attached should you want to have a look at
it. http://journals.rcni.com/doi/pdfplus/10.7748/ns.29.44.32.s36. Well Done Caryn!
